Gunnarella Senghas

Introduction: A small genus of about six species from New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Derivation of genus name: Named after Gunnar Seidenfaden, Danish botanist
Type species: Gunnarella carinatus (J.J. Smith) Senghas, Basionym: Chameanthera carinatus
Characteristics of the genus: Small epiphytic monopodial herbs with short leafy stems. The inflorescence is pendant and many flowered. Flowers do not open widely and are translucent white.

Habitat: The species grow in rain forests from sea level to about 300 m.
