Once I bought a plant of Pleurothallis scheidi from J&L. Due to illness I gave up growing orchids for a couple of years. When I restated I ordered another plant of Pleurothallis scheidi from them, as they were coming over to London for a show. They said they had some but the name had changed to Pleurothallis ornata.
I am now lead to believe that scheidi & ornata are actually two different species.
What does the world of orchid taxonomy have to say about it? I was lead to believe that it was not even a Pleurothallis sp any longer

I just love growing the plants and think I should let other people argue about names.
What qualifications do you require to be abled to call yourself or more correctly, let other people cal you ,an Orchid Taxonomist?
Are there too many self appointed taxonomists out there?
